If there is one thing I love more than food or a glass of malt whiskey – is machines, and the bigger the better. This is a JCB 457, one of JCB’s latest articulated wheel loaders, which I photographed for JCB magazine. The 457 is a new machine and is fully loaded with new and innovative features: A 9% more powerful and efficient Stage V Cummins engine. New fuel saving auto engine shutdown feature. Unique 5-speed transmission as standard and one of the most operator friendly cabs on the market with 2 new power modes for greater versatility.
This particular 457 was one of the newest additions to the fleet at Malcom Group in Clydebank, and was hard at work in their recycling centre where they recycle building rubble. The weather on the day wasn’t very nice, but weather doesn’t matter for a JCB…
