Recently I was tasked to take pictures at the Energen Biogas Plant in Glasgow. They take food waste from local shops, supermarkets and council collections then process the waste. At the end of the process they produce gas from the waste, and the only thing that’s left is liquid fertiliser, which is taken away by big tankers. I love industrial work, especially things like this, but I was surprised to learn more about the process, and how green it is. They even generate their own electricity, so the plant is self-sustaining. I really do think we need more plants like this. One in every town.
